Our newsletter is published once a month on or before the first in order to have it in the hands of our members a few days before our normal first Thursday chapter membership meetings.  We encourage members to receive their monthly newsletter on line if possible.  You will receive an e-mail message with a link to this page. The newsletter is available for your browser viewing .HTM or download .PDF formated version that requires Adobe Reader (4) four or higher, a free download from Adobe. The link method is much quicker and less problematic than attaching it to e-mail.  Members who do not have Internet service will still receive a copy by US Postal Service to your address of record.  Non-members who would like to be on our e-mail list please leave me a message. Our newsletter publishing process. EAA Chapter 103 Newsletter is currently laid out in MS Publisher. Information is gathered throughout the month. Many of our members have taken the time to contribute articles.  You are all encouraged to participate with your stories, tips, and anything you would like to write about concerning aviation.  Starting the last week of the month everything is finalized, placing articles, editing and sometimes ruling out items that are not time sensitive to be used in a later issue.  When all is ready to go to print Aurelia Reported is used to convert the MS Publisher version to .htm that can be viewed on most browsers and is posted as the Current Newsletter on this page.  PDF995 a shareware program PDF995 is used to convert the Publisher document to a PDF document that is both put up on the web-site as Current Newsletter .PDF to be downloaded and also used to print the mail-out newsletters in black and white to be mailed to members who do not have online capabilities.  Adobe Reader, a handy application to have on your computer, is needed to view the electronic newsletter.
More about PDF995.   A shareware program that can be downloaded from the Internet is a very handy program when you are sending out information to those who may not have the same applications available or compatibility with the original document.  PDF995 is very simple to use. Once loaded on your computer it acts like a printer driver.  When you are ready to convert, any document you can send to a printer can be sent to PDF995 just by selecting it as the active printer.  Chapter 103 has used PDF995 to produce a monthly newsletter since 2003 with very few problems.
Aurelia Reporter.   The newsletter is converted much like PDF995 by a program called Aurelia Reporter into .htm for easier viewing of our current newsletter although it is not as sharp as PDF it loads much faster and can be viewed right on your browser.
